Need help to decide if a move abroad is right for you?

Welcome to the expat decision maker programme!

Have you been offered an international work assignment? Or are you planning a move overseas for any reason?
Is everything in place for a move, and you just need to say yes, or no? Or any combination of these?

Let me lighten your mental load, quickly.

Perhaps you’re not sure if this is the right move for you and your family.

Maybe you're concerned about how your children will cope with the move and new life abroad.

Don’t know where to start or what do first, or next? Getting overwhelmed? Feeling stressed? Worried?

Don't panic! This is all perfectly normal.

Come and pick my brains, get it off your chest and let's focus together on the challenges you have right now.

I will help you to move forward. Let's make your expat success a priority!

Are you worrying about these questions? (And more!)

  • How can I be sure I'm making the best decisions for my family?
  • Should I even make this move abroad at all?
  • When is the right time and right age to move with my children?
  • What happens if this turns out to be a huge mistake?
  • How do I help my children prepare for this move?
  • How do I manage everything I need to get done?

One-to-one expat chat

Do you need someone neutral and experienced to chat about your potential move and accompanying decisions, in complete confidence?

Instead of swimming against the tide of an ocean of information, I’ll give you the guidance you need, when you need it, to help you take control of this busy and often stressful time.

Dedicated to helping you simplify your decision-making process, so you have clarity and confidence in the expat life choices you’re making.

Decision-Making Kickstarter

Let's brainstorm together. Talking over your relocation, and any concerns with a neutral, yet highly experienced outsider helps bring clarity and comfort to to whatever you find most challenging right now. With this short, one-to-one programme, we can talk about anything you're feeling overwhelmed about right now and I can offer support, suggestions and advice.

While I can’t make your decisions for you, I can offer honest advice, experience-based suggestions, recommendations, tools, tips and resources to lighten your mental and emotional load.

You are an individual, with different hopes, dreams, needs. Only by talking with someone who has been in your situation can you move forward.

Let’s help simplify your thoughts so you know what your next steps should be.

Get clarification on you and your family’s unique requirements, so that you can calm your natural overwhelm, and gain confidence in your own decision-making abilities.

Gain confidence and reassurance that you’re making the right choice for you and your family.

There's no substitute for experience

There are lots of people out there helping potential expats. They may have lived in more countries than me; they may have more kids than me - or no kids; they may have all kinds of letters after their name. However, there is absolutely no substitute for experience - whether that's expat experience, parenting experience or life experience. I have the lot.

If you're up for speaking to someone who is rational, pragmatic and plain-speaking, get in touch!

'Fluff-free advice'. I'll be up-front and honest with you, always; sharing my insight and cutting through the fluff. I believe in efficiency, so promise that I won't drag out any programmes just for the sake of it. We all have busy lives and you have lots to organise.

I am unique, practical, full of real-life experience (so many experiences!) and several suitcases full of common-sense. My natural problem-solving abilities, independence and self-sufficiency will help you triumph at this busy, life-changing time.

Allow me to let my experience help your move and life abroad be a success.

Expat life isn't Insta-Perfect

Sugar-coating expat life doesn’t do anyone any favours at all. Yes, it's an incredible and fabulous lifestyle, it really is. However, I have seen too many bitterly disappointed people who just can't hack it as their expectations were coloured by the glossy experiences shared by many. Social media and blogs rarely tell the whole story of expat life.

Living abroad is not always as easy as many other expat websites and blogs may lead you to believe. I’m not saying it’s always hard, either, it’s not. It is brilliant! It just may not be what quite you expect. For one person, a certain country and lifestyle could be a dream come true; for another person, that same country and lifestyle is simply a nightmare.

Each and every person is different; you need different things in life; you have different hopes, dreams and needs. A cookie-cutter life simply does not exist. This is why you shouldn't choose a cookie-cutter adviser or consultant for your important decision making process.

Nobody could ever call me 'cookie-cutter'!

Bespoke Solutions Platinum Service

Highly Personalised Research and Advice

For a longer period of time, make use of my skills and experience, plus superhuman research skills to help you discover the nitty-gritty about your potential new home.

Previous clients have asked me to help find them a home; research schools in a specific area and with a certain ethos; price up housing and cost of living compared to their home country; and find public transport routes for them.

It's hard and confusing enough having children in your home country, but when you're abroad it can be almost impossible to know where to start. Carole helped me navigate my children's needs and was filled with useful insights and resources for me.

When I came to move back home after 15 years abroad it was a real culture shock and unless you've been in that position nobody else can really see where you're coming from.

The world (your hometown or country) changes a lot in 15 years - imperceptible to those who've stayed - so I've loved reading the stories of others who've returned home.
